Teens learn a state approved curriculum of instruction and prepare and pass the written Permit Test.
14 Hour In Car Instruction

Teens do 7 hours of driving Instruction with Elite State licensed Instructors and 7 hours of observation.

Before you ask the State to License your Teen, TX requires Parents to do 30 hours of driving practice with your Teen in the driver seat. Ten of those hours must be at night.
Elite Teen Drivers Ed - 7 steps to Teen Licensing
1. Elite Classroom Instruction (32 Hours)
a. 32 Hours Classroom instruction

b. Teens must follow classroom rules *no cell phone use in class *complete all class work
c. Classroom Folder CONTAINS ALL CLASS WORK- $25 replacement fee IF LOST
d. Absences
· Only 5 absences & required FOLDER makeup work. (Book available on ADE Sat.)
· At least 8 hrs of class instruction must be completed before DE964 eligible.
· Students falling behind may make up Saturday at 10am or Rent Text book $50/$40rfnd
e. Remaining Balance not paid in full by 3rd Monday requires course termination.
2. Teen Obtains Teens Permit / Learner License
- a. Student eligible for Permit after:
· TDE Course Fee Paid in full
· Passed Road Rules & Signs Test (Green Certificate available 2 business days after eligible)
Test given initially after the third day of the course & Students retest on Fridays
b. Submit the following to DPS for Permit/ Learner License:
· DE-964 green certificate from Elite Driving School
· Verification of Enrollment from Teen’s high school or Parent if home schooled
· Completed DL-14A for Texas Driver License (black ink only)
· Identity verification (Birth certificate & social security card & others see DPS website)
· Completed Texas Residency Affidavit with supporting documents:
o (Water/ Electric bill, Vehicle registration & others see back of form)
· Glasses for Eye Exam
3. Elite “ 14 hours In – Car” Instruction starts after Elite receives:
a. Create online user account at www.schedule2drive.com for $19.99 fee using school code C2702.
b. To activate schedule2drive.com account submit to Elite Driving School Office:
· Texas Learner License / Permit & Driver Readiness Packet completed
c. Parents must schedule a session every Tuesday by going online between 5pm–8pm.
· You can schedule online at any time, but an open slot is guaranteed if you log in to schedule on Tuesdays 5pm to 8pm and call the office at 281-446-2608 to get assistance if no session is available. (COVID-19 ADJUSTMENT REQUIRED)
· Up to 7 days break between sessions, must wear tennis shoes, bring permit & glasses
· Cancelation of session must be before 24 hours prior or pay a no show fee of $50
· 12 sessions are required to be completed in around 12+ weeks. Teens keep permit 6+ mos.
* COVID-19 May require an adjustment in observation hours for safety reasons.
After FINISHING Drivers Ed - Schedule a license packet pick up meeting on the home page.
4. Behind The Wheel with Parent & Licensing Phase
a. Teens are required to do 30 hours of driving at home with an Adult
· Adult must be 21 or older with valid driver license and no restrictions
b. 20 daytime hours/ 10 nighttime hours (Only one hour per day will count)
5. Complete ITTD 2hr workshop (at Impact Texas Teen Drivers Website Online)
a. After FINISHING Drivers Ed - Schedule a license packet pick up meeting on the home page.
b. Pick up license packet & green DE – 964
c. Create account using email address – Input info: Commercial Driving School, C2702,
d. Print certificate. Must be valid within 90 days of Road Test
6. Schedule Road Test with Elite or DPS
a. Road Test Prep Course available on same day of Test ($100).
b. Schedule an available road test ($155) with elite at www.elitedriversed.com.
c. Schedule a road test document submission and approval appoinment and bring the following documents to the Elite Office:
· Green DE 964 Certificate
· ITTD Certificate
· VOE from School
· DL-14B
· 30 HR btw Log
7. Teen Provisional License for Teens under age 18 (Graduated Driver Licensing Rules)
a. After Completing Drivers Ed, Parent BTW, 6 months wait & Passing Road Test
b. May not operate a motor vehicle with the following:
· more than one passenger in the vehicle under the age of 21 who is not a family member
· between midnight and 5:00 a.m.
· while using a wireless communication device

Make sure that your Teen has paid in full and passed the road rules and signs test with Elite, and received the green certificate. Create an In Car Preparation Appointment online. Then take the green certificate that your Teen was issued to your SCHEDULED DPS Appointment to get Teens Permit/ Learner License.

Take Sealed envelope issued by Elite to DPS. Schedule an appointment with the DPS ONLINE. Tell them that you have passed the driving test and give them the sealed envelope, do not open envelope.
